LifeXchange

Mentor of the Year 2015/2016

51KJ-eufzBL._SY355_On the 18th of March 2016 we’re set to present the prize for Mentor of the Year 2015/2016 at LifeXchange’s AGM. Even though LifeXchange does not compare mentoring relationships, the reason why we celebrate them is simple – to showcase evidence-based and responsible mentoring at its best!

This year’s eight nominees have had very different mentoring experiences and approaches that got them noticed. Funnily enough though, the one thing they all had in common is a belief that they don’t deserve to win!

Another thing all of these heroes’ mentoring stories have in common is that there is no loud victorious ending – none of them would claim that their mentees have gone through a major, visible transformation. In fact, most of them don’t even feel like they’ve had a big influence on them or seen their mentorship role help their mentees rise and moved up in life, immediately experiencing their potential for life in abundance.

Disappointed? Don’t be.

The reality is that things are changing, just not in a place you  experience tangibly. Since LifeXchange believes that mentoring effects change on a belief level, we know it can often take months (or even years) before these changes become visible to the naked eye. Therefor what we honour in our mentors is these individuals’ continued and unconditional commitment to journey with their mentees after and through every disappointment, frustration and hurdle.

We hope that anyone hearing these stories and watching the video at the AGM will gain a greater appreciation and grasp of what it takes to put oneself out there as a mentor.

So well done guys (and girls)! We’re so proud of you!
