The neuroscience of change and boosting business performance: All the HR Innovation Day dates, times, contacts, programme, speakers, how to register and more
People of the fourth industrial revolution. The future of AI in human resources. And the neuroscience of change. Dr Cobus Oosthuizen is the opening speaker at this year’s South African leg of HR Innovation Day in Johannesburg on 20 March 2020.
“HR is often tasked with growing people and enhancing performance,” says Dr Cobus. “And that’s why it’s so important that we get a scientific understanding of how people’s minds work and what drives their behaviour.”
Here are the HR Innovation Day 2020 dates, programme, speakers, what to expect and how to get your tickets:
HR INNOVATION DAY, JOHANNESBURG
Every year, HR Innovation Day by marketing and events pros 21point1gws.com hosts numerous HR and business events around the world. And, this year, the SA leg of HR Innovation Day takes place on 20 March in Johannesburg at the Gallagher Convention Centre.
It’s a place to showcase the latest innovations that may impact human resources in the future and is recommended for all HR staff, general managers, strategic business partners, directors and all heads of HR and their operations teams. Expect topics and talks that’ll propel your HR game into the future.
“This is my first time at HR Innovation Day, and I am very excited to see so many high-calibre people and companies in one place. I’m going to deliver my talk and then look forward to perhaps sharing a few cappuccinos afterwards and discussing the future of people and business in our country,” says Dr Cobus.
WHAT WILL DR COBUS BE TALKING ABOUT?
Dr Cobus is going to be introducing the concept of human self-regulation – a scientific understanding of the fundamental functions in the brain that drive our behaviour – and how you can use those same processes to create change and drive performance.
“It sounds like rocket science, understanding what’s going on in the brain is actually very simple. Human self-regulation, the same thing that makes it so hard to stick to your New Year’s resolutions, is the same process that causes companies to struggle with change.
“And a simple understanding of how the mind works and why we self-regulate will help any business on the journey towards positive change,” he explains. “That’s what I want to bring to people in HR today, a simple, evidence-based understanding of people. Because your people are the key to unlocking phenomenal growth for your business.”
